CHOIR

We have a very enthusiastic choir, who sing at most Sunday services, and on special feast days. Choir Practice is on Thursday evenings at 7pm and also before each service on Sunday. For details, please contact our Director of Music, Alistair MacKenzie Tel: 01253 722366

ALTAR SERVERS

Servers assist at services on a rota basis. New servers (adults or young people) are always welcome. For details, contact our Head Server, Gerald Wilson Tel: 01253 730806

BELL RINGERS

We have eight bells in our bell tower, which are rung for Sunday services, weddings etc. Our ringers always welcome new members, experienced or not. Practice is on Fridays at 7.30pm. For details, contact the Tower Captain, Stuart Newton Tel: 01253 725958

WALSINGHAM CELL

This group meets to offer prayerful support for the Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham, and to encourage pilgrimage. A programme is available for the year’s events, including a monthly Eucharist on the last Friday each month at 9.30am, and an annual pilgrimage to Walsingham in Norfolk.

FLOWER GUILD

We have a group of volunteers who arrange flowers in church on a rota basis. New volunteers are very welcome. Please contact Mrs Hazel Preston.

WEDNESDAY MEN

The Wednesday Men meet every Wednesday at 9.30am in Church and undertake maintenance/repair tasks. New members are always welcome. For further information contact Eric Roberts.

CHURCH CLEANING TEAM

Volunteers are very welcome to join our Church cleaning team. We meet every Thursday morning between 9.00am and 11.00am. There are usually three people on a team and you can expect to be on the rota every 4-5 weeks. If you can help please contact Maggie Chowns.

BRASS CLEANING

An informal group, meeting occasionally, to clean in church, and enjoy fellowship (and the occasional sherry!!). See weekly notice sheets for times.

MOTHERS UNION

We have a large M.U. branch, part of a world-wide network. We meet on the second Tuesday of every month at 2.00pm. For more details please contact the Enrolling Member, Mrs Christine Buckley.

HANDBELL RINGERS

We have a keen band of handbell ringers who meet in the choir vestry to practise on Wednesdays (term time only) at 10.45am in Church. For details, contact Christine Buckley.

OPERATIC AND DRAMATIC SOCIETY

Our “Op & Dram” group usually perform a Christmas panto at local venues and a summer show at Lowther Pavilion. Rehearsals are on Wednesdays at 7.45pm in the Parish Rooms. Details: Alison Thornton Tel: 01253 739235. For more information see www.sapos.org.uk

Committees

SOCIAL AND FUND RAISING COMMITTEE

The Social and Fund Raising Committee plans a number of social events throughout the year, as well as events to raise funds for specific projects in Church. For more information contact Peter Duke.

OUTREACH COMMITTEE

The Outreach Committee’s purpose is to promote the Church and communicate, to the congregation and wider community, events at the Church throughout the year. For more information contact Susan McMahon.

LAND AND BUILDINGS COMMITTEE

The Land and Buildings Committee looks after the Church building and grounds.

PARISH ROOMS COMMITTEE

The Parish Rooms Committee looks after the Parish Rooms building and grounds.
