Stainer’s Crucifixion

‘The Crucifixion’ by Sir John Stainer (1840 – 1901) is a beautiful composition for choir, two soloists and organ accompaniment. ‘The Crucifixion’ includes five hymns for congregational or audience participation; these rank amongst the finest of their genre.

Our aim is to raise as many funds as possible for the UNICEF Crisis Appeal and for Fylde Foodbank by involving as many people as we can to sing this wonderful work. We also warmly invite everybody who might not wish to participate, to hear our performance in Church on Sunday 26th March 2023 at 7.00pm.

Last year we raised over £2,800 for UNICEF and, this year, particularly as we are dividing the proceeds between these two charities, we need to raise as much, hopefully considerably more, with this year’s performance.

Those participating include:
Tenor: Alistair Armit, Baritone: Michael Howarth, Organ: Dr Kevin Morgan, Directed by Alistair MacKenzie
Plus choristers from choirs across Lancashire

Choristers are asked to donate £10, members of the audience £5.

If you wish to sing in this performance, please confirm your attendance by sending an email to: crucifixion.aid@gmail.com, or telephone: 07922 826 571 or 01253 722366

If you wish to be a member of the audience please just come along on Sunday 26th March for a 7.00 pm start.
Refreshments will be available following the performance.
Please bring as many members of your family and friends as you possibly can.
