‘The Crucifixion’ by Sir John Stainer (1840 – 1901) is a beautiful composition for choir, two soloists and organ accompaniment. ‘The Crucifixion’ includes five hymns for congregational or audience participation; these rank amongst the finest of their genre.
Once again St Annes Parish Church is delighted to stage a performance of The Crucifixion with the aim of raising as many funds as possible for the vital and increasingly urgent support for families in Ukraine via UNICEF and Fylde Foodbank (which is also actively supporting Ukrainian refugees locally). We want to involve as many people as we can to sing this wonderful work. We also warmly invite everybody who might not wish to participate, to hear our performance in Church on Sunday 22nd March 2026 at 7.00 pm. The performance will be directed by Alistair MacKenzie, with support from Dr Kevin Morgan (Organ), Alistair Armit (Tenor) and Michael Howarth (Baritone). Choristers are asked to donate £10, members of the audience £5.
